The role of the school’s Principal and MDI Lead is to support your teachers to administer the MDI in your school and guide your students through the survey. Your role is critical to the success of the MDI.
Here you will find a step-by-step instructions and all of the resources you will need to administer the MDI in your school. Your School District’s MDI Lead Contact is also available to support you in this process.
HELP’s role is one of consultant and guide. We provide ongoing support and resources to ensure smooth implementation of the MDI and dissemination of results.
STEP 2: Share MDI Administrator Checklist and Survey Administrator Letter with Grade 4, 5, 6, 7 and/or 8 teachers
STEP 3: Parent Information Letters sent home by the start of December (at least 4 weeks before survey administration, not including the winter break.). Use letters provided by District
STEP 5: Review MDI Instructional Survey Grade 4 & 5 / Grade 6, 7, 8 and Administration Guide and distribute to Teachers
STEP 6: Set up your password and log into the e-MDI website once you receive your login instructions (mid-Dec/Jan)
STEP 8: Review your Class Lists and add/delete students as necessary before the Survey Administration (See MDI Administration Guide for detailed instructions)
STEP 9: Tell your students about the MDI a week before administering the survey (See MDI Administration Guide for detailed instructions)
STEP 10: Administer the MDI: Print off student passwords and unlock the survey. Students complete the survey online. Have the Instructional Survey on hand to guide your students through the survey.
