The role of the school’s Principal and MDI Lead is to support your teachers to administer the MDI in your school and guide your students through the survey. Your role is critical to the success of the MDI.

Here you will find a step-by-step instructions and all of the resources you will need to administer the MDI in your school. Your School District’s MDI Lead Contact is also available to support you in this process.

HELP’s role is one of consultant and guide. We provide ongoing support and resources to ensure smooth implementation of the MDI and dissemination of results.

MDI Checklist

STEP 1: Book Computer Lab for MDI Administration (in Jan / Feb)

STEP 2:   Share MDI Teacher Infosheet and Teacher/Administrator Letter with Grade 4 and/or 7 teachers

STEP 3:  Parent Information Letters sent home by the start of December (at least 4 weeks before survey administration, not including the winter break). Use letters provided by District

STEP 4: Attend an optional training webinar hosted by HELP on Thu, Jan 10 at 3:15 pm PST. A recording of the webinar is available to watch here

STEP 5: Review MDI Instructional Survey Grade 4 / Grade 7 and Administration Guide and distribute to Teachers

STEP 6: Set up your password and log into the eMDI website once you receive your login instructions (mid-Dec/Jan)

STEP 7:  Watch MDI Survey Administration Training Video (~ 5 minutes)

STEP 8:  Review your Class Lists and add/delete students as necessary before the Survey Administration (See MDI Administration Guide for detailed instructions)

STEP 9:  Administer the MDI: Students complete the survey online

STEP 10: You did it! Thank you! Let us know how it went by completing the MDI Feedback Survey
